I feel this - I really like Norse mythology and I'm super pissed that it has been stolen by racist shitheads.
Modern day Asatru practitioners of good firth have to run constant vigilance against supremicists creeping in. Some folks make it in to good groups from cruel groups and have trauma to work out from being around that vitriolic perspective.
A lot of the effective work comes down to actively communicating openness and inclusion for practitioners from all backgrounds that are willing to do same.
IOW Norse pantheon worshipers talking and walking as equal and allied with POC and queer folks all the time makes the right jerks uncomfortable.

I really wish more queer folk and POC would get into Ásatrú. Most of us are just people that enjoy being out in nature and reading old books, sometimes at the same time.
And we drink a lot of coffee.

Its true for most white culture. Nazis own us no mater what we do, think, feel or believe.
That's because there is no "white culture", even calling our cultures that is ceding them to Nazis.
All European culture? I don't know, all I know is I cringe whenever white people talk about ancestry even when it's innocent. Like it or not mine is the face of fascism no mater what.
So you're just admitting that you're part of the problem.
How so? I didn't choose to be white. And I won't pretend that no mater whqt i do I am what everyone thinks of when talking about Republicans and facism. Hell, half of the posts are talking about being uncomfortable having anything to do with Nordic stuff.
The problem isn't being white, the problem is hating when white people embrace their heritage. Its okay when other cultures do it, but when white people do it its a problem? Fuck off with that racist bullshit. As long as embracing your heritage doesn't mean hating other cultures, there's nothing wrong with it, and we need to normalize that. Stop being part of the problem. Stop letting the racists win, stop letting them co-opt everything. Fucking take the power back.
To be fair, a fascist would censor pictures comparing his face to Winnie-The-Pooh.
