I don't understand what the point of it is or how to consume it.

I have read instructions on how to make it. I can make it as well though of course I am no expert.

I just don't know why someone would have it over normally brewed coffee. Is the taste different? I am not the kind of person who can tell difference easily.
Let's say you have cold brewed a pot overnight. What do you do with it? Can you heat it before drinking it? Or do you have to drink it cold?

It tastes different, some people like it more or maybe a person just wants to change things up. Personally I drink espresso, moka pot, and French press all regularly and like them for the different ways they taste and feel. I like cold brew as well but the effort isn't worth it to me.

You'd likely drink it cold, heating it would change the flavour in what I think most people would describe as a negative way.
