That's also the whole basis for Hamas. They also think their holy book gives them rights above anyone else to that land...
Yeah Hamas is kind of irrelevant here. Palestinians were living on that land and then some folk showed up and said "sorry our book says we're supposed to be here, please leave"
Its the equivalent of someone trying to claim your seat at the theatre halfway into the movie and the proof they show you is something they've scribbled on a napkin. It would not fly for most people.
I understand it's essentially settler-colonialism in practice, which is foundational to modern western civilization. But that doesn't make it right.
- Ben Netanyahu, basically
No, the basis for hamas was the founders family being killed in front of him by fascists.
Hamas only exist, and solely exists, as resistance to occupation. A group will always exist like hamas, using the same tactics and beliefs. Hamas, unlike israel by the way, doesn't discriminate based on religion.
Have you got a source for that family killing bit? Can't find anything that talks about that. Tried both co-founders wiki pages, tried the hamas wiki page and also tried basic searching like 'hamas founder family killed" and got nothing.
