Something that I discovered last week is that the "preview" feature may show the image but then later when the proxy gets added then the image no longer renders.
Testing with the same one from then (it renders correctly with Preview):
Edit: yup, and sure enough it still breaks after the proxy is added. I hope this report helps!:-)

Thank you - Reddit is one of the major sources of easily findable images on the internet (like gliffy and imgur etc.), so it would be good to have those links work.
And regardless the Preview feature showing differently than ends up being rendered is definitely the biggest issue IMHO. It's hard to balance all of the various factors though, I do get that!:-P
