Hey everyone, I've just updated pricing points for around 100 different countries for removing ads.

Please let me know how these look, it's been quite the challenge getting this right in so many different regions.

I'll be expanding localised pricing to ultra following feedback from this thread.

Cheers, Lj

Still too much in Australia. Sorry, want to support the work like on Sync for Reddit. But this app doesn't even have functionality to post yet and is $25 to remove ads. It just doesn't feel right considering it's the fediverse and there are no ads at the source.

I know you need to make a living. So you do what you need to.

Similar feedback from NZ. $28 NZD to remove ads... I think I paid around $5 for Sync for Reddit premium. I know that was a while ago, but $28 would be the most expensive app purchase I've ever made by a long way. In fact it'd be the most expensive software purchase of any kind that I've made in years. I'd love to support and this would normally be an easy decision for me, but given that Lemmy itself is still finding its feet I just can't justify it.

Agree that it's your livelihood and your price to set 100%, just thought some feedback that this particular localised price is steep might be useful.

Should be $24.99 AUD there and I'm just finishing up posting. The price in Australia is regionalised.

Yeah I noticed it had been changed. My feedback is that it's still too high. Sorry. The app is still in beta and missing major functionality. I think you may also need to look at some competitors as I haven't seen any priced like Sync and some are actually pretty damn good. I'm really enjoying Voyager for example.

I totally understand you need to make a living, but this isn't Reddit. And I'd rather put some of my money towards supporting the instances I use, rather than just in the app I use to access them.

I'm sure you're gonna do fine. You've got a great app and plenty of support. Just wanted to provide some honest feedback.

Damn, are there no decent Lemmy apps for android or something? On iOS Memmy is amazing and free with all the features.

I agree on Aussie pricing, it’s way too high considering our current cost of living. $10 maybe but most people won’t pay $25 as they just don’t have that cash spare.

Honestly, there are actually some great apps on Android that are feature rich and I think all the others I know about are free too. I'm using Voyager and really liking it. Which is why I can't spend $25 on Sync. It's just way too much and despite having a great UI, is missing features like being able to submit a post.

Edit: To be clear, Sync is free with ads. Other apps I've tried are free and ad free.

Just added submit today.

I was so ready to drop $10-15 AUD without a thought, but at $25, I'm sticking with Connect.

I believe the point he is making is the app is quite expensive even after adjustments. Compared indie games you are 33% more expensive than Hollow Knight. Only for ad removal.

It's skewed in a lot of our eyes.
