Regarding spoilers; Please put "(Spoilers)" in the title of your post if you anticipate spoilers, as we do not currently have a spoiler tag available. If your post contains an image that could be considered a spoiler, please mark the thread as NSFW so the image gets blurred. As far as how long to wait until the post is no longer a spoiler, please just use your best judgement. Everyone has a different idea on this, so we don't want to make any hard limits.
Please use spoiler tags whenever commenting a spoiler in a non-spoiler thread. Most of the Lemmy clients don't support this but we want to get into the habit as clients will be supporting in the future.

Thank you for your work on this important research.
Waterworld is a tough one, because I would personally say that the theatrical cut is not great. However, the Ulysses Cut really changes the film and makes it much better, but it's a fanedit. How does that affect this?
I've since realised that my research is missing important parameters. Obviously, it would be foolish to try to consider all films ever made, and so I think it best if I narrow my focus to films made since 1996. This isn't an arbitrarily chosen date, and the fact that it means that both Waterworld and The Flintstones will be excluded is merely a unfortunate coincidence.
Understandable. 26 years is a nice round number; clearly not arbitrary.
I dunno. Waterworld is a masterpiece. You sure you watched it in science-ready conditions?
Fair point. I approached it from a subjective space.
In that space, I highly recommend the Ulysses Cut.
But there may be a scientifically valid case for the theatrical cut. Do you have it?
