Valeriano Orobón Fernández, born on this day in 1901, was a Spanish anarcho-syndicalist theoretician, trade union activist, translator, and poet who wrote the lyrics of the revolutionary song "A Las Barricadas".
Orobón believed in the organizational power of unions, believe that they would have a major role in reorganizing society in a more libertarian fashion. Orobón was also strongly opposed to the communist (i.e., Soviet) ideas in Spain during the Spanish Civil War.
Shortly before his untimely death from tuberculosis, Orobón wrote the words of "A Las Barricadas" to the tune of "Warszawianka 1905 roku", itself a well-known Polish revolutionary song. The anti-fascist tune became the anthem of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT), and one of the most popular songs of the Spanish anarchists during the Civil War.

imma rant a little, but native (or whatever it's called when hosts of podcasts/videos read an ad) ads annoy the shit out of me, cause the hosts are lying for money (which makes all following information sus). i know it's a perceived childish point of view, but i really don't think it is. i'm not that annoyed with actors or in scene movie adverts (they are usually funny if they are bad, like james bond ka-ching moments, or just whatever), even if they work, cause i don't expect truth from actors
make advertising illegal
Not at all. It cheapens the whole experience. It adds a whole Alex Jones / televangelist vibe to the thing. Talking in depth about the "pressing issues of our time," then turning around and hawking Blue Apron subscriptions or some shit. I understand people have bills to pay, but damn.
I presume these podcast advertising models (not just ad reads, but canned ads as well) rely on sharing audience data with the advertisers, too. At best, just metrics like the number of downloads, but in likelyhood, things like your region, the time of day, user agent string, etc. There is one podcast I have listened to which automatically embeds ads at the time you download it. It is recorded in California and Mexico and I get ads for a local East-coast grocery chain. It's fucking creepy.
i mean on leftist forum it wouldn't be hopefully, but generally it is.
canned ads do be influenced by vpn so if i get them it's some incomprehensible nordic language or nothing, if it's something like nigeria on exit (life pro tip)
