The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, which began 82 years ago today, is now universally hailed as a bold act of Jewish resistance against the Nazis. But at the time, many Poles watched — or cheered — as the ghetto burned. The parallels with Gaza are hard to ignore.

This is the exact parallel I draw for people that argue with me about my support for Hamas. If it were just Hamas, of course my support would be more critical as I am of all faith based movements, but the fact they have a united front with PFLP and other communist organizations shows that they are legitimately fighting for liberation. And even if they weren't aligned with my comrades I would still support them for fighting back against genocide.

I was arguing with a guy yesterday who was railing on about Xinjiang and Ukraine, the former being laughably false as even the US state department had to admit it was bullshit, and while the latter is more complicated on the surface it really isn't. The only question is whether you support the self determination of the people in eastern Ukraine and the Donbas region. The only arguments against this are just naked nationalism of the non-liberatory kind and it pains me to see so many self-proclaimed anarchists simping for a state that has been wholly subsumed by Nazi elements.

The blatant hypocrisy I've seen from Anarchists between Ukraine and Gaza has been jaw dropping. Flat condemnation for a people resisting their genocide, their resistance wasn't pure enough. Complete uncritical support for a fascist dictatorship with an ultranationalism rooted in Nazism.
