A rooster leading a bunch of hens is a little bit of a weird choice, biologically speaking.

It would be more inspiring if a hen were the leader since they have actual skin in the game.

Rooster is stealing surplus labor

yeah, but hens can have wattles too. i had to check, but yeah.
