It's a new day and my thoughts are more in order.

Partey hurt us and Arteta was terrible.

Because Partey was missing, Arteta:

  • Moved Rice to 6
  • Moved Merino to 8
  • Disrupted the partnership that Martinelli and Rice built
  • Forced Lewis-Skelly to sit
  • Made Ødegaard play deeper
  • Made Trosaard play centre forward

But Arteta also

  • Didn't practice the new formation against Palace
  • Knowing that Ødegaard is out of form, didn't try Nwaneri in the role
  • Despite Nwaneri being a goal threat. Treated him like a pariah on the return of Saka
  • Didn't even try Zinchenko at left back and MLS at 8

I know people want Partey to get a new contract, but I'm absolutely against it. Also given the holes in the squad, we can't justify buying Isak. We legit need at least 5 signings.
