It's a new day and my thoughts are more in order.
Partey hurt us and Arteta was terrible.
Because Partey was missing, Arteta:
- Moved Rice to 6
- Moved Merino to 8
- Disrupted the partnership that Martinelli and Rice built
- Forced Lewis-Skelly to sit
- Made Ødegaard play deeper
- Made Trosaard play centre forward
But Arteta also
- Didn't practice the new formation against Palace
- Knowing that Ødegaard is out of form, didn't try Nwaneri in the role
- Despite Nwaneri being a goal threat. Treated him like a pariah on the return of Saka
- Didn't even try Zinchenko at left back and MLS at 8
I know people want Partey to get a new contract, but I'm absolutely against it. Also given the holes in the squad, we can't justify buying Isak. We legit need at least 5 signings.
