I'm looking to buy an older truck to drive until EV infrastructure is better where I live (and ideally we get more small EV trucks), and my mom was like "you won't have as much technology in an older truck you know."

Yeah, that's actually a good thing, I hate the weird proprietary tech in my 2019 car and would rather have a basic ass radio I can either use or easily rip out and replace without dismantling half the car.
