Hot take: the prequels were better, because they portrayed the decay of liberal democracy into fascism.
The only good part of the sequels that the movies do shit with it but other materials dive a little better is that: after defeating fascism, if you just make ANOTHER liberal democracy, paper clip the nazis into the government and let the bourgeoisie shit over your democracy surprise surprise you have fascism again.
Somehow Mussolini returned
Prequels: German Confederacy becoming German Empire
Original trilogy: German Empire during WW1
Sequels: Weimar Republic allowing Nazi Germany to form
Too bad they sucked in most other aspects

Empire was the best but ultimately all of it is for children so it’s Glorp Shittos all the way down
