Interesting take. Is this really panning out, that all these people that are younger than me are far right?
Kinda? Zoomer politics are not 'far-right' so much as they are mostly reactionary. They are just as much of a grab-bag of incoherent ideas as any other generation in the U.S., but if their family member or acquaintance who they think is useless is an outspoken leftist, they will veer right just to piss them off. But the same can be said for people who have a family member or acquaintance who is an outspoken libertarian or conservative and they see as useless they will veer left, again just to piss them off.
If you can demonstrate competency and knowledge outside of political understanding, they will listen to what you say and maybe even agree with it, but the idea that social reality is inherently political and that they themselves by just existing have taken a political stance is essentially an anathema to them, because to them politics is performance that people choose to do (which is an inherently reactionary liberal understanding of politics). It's like if someone combined the worst of Judith Butler and William Burke together.
