I actually do imagine the reason the west haven't assassinated him is probably, to some extent, that Putin is taking steps to ensure Zelenskyy's personal safety.
There is a very funny montage in my head, of CIA/Azov agents trying to kill Zelenskyy, yet the FSB is hilariously sabotaging all their attempts.
