I got called from a cold caller related to a Costco compo I entered, fair enough, I've set myself up this.

But they call me on a Friday an hour before lunch (AKA everyone offloading responsibility before the weekend mode a bank holiday one at that :/ ) and when I explained this and suggested sending an email they just carried on as if it didn't matter.

I don't do well with cold callers. You're already getting my manager tone, but to further disrespect my time rather than asking when would be a good time to call back or using something less invasive seems baffling to me if you want a sale.

I take the view of the social contract: if they won't respect the rules and are impolite to you, they forfeit their right to politeness back. You're perfectly justified in hanging up on someone if they're so rude as that.

It's also true they're just doing their job, but that just makes it more okay to hang up on them. If anything, you're helping them hit quota by letting them move on quickly. It's a service!

Good way of looking at it

Yea, I don't understand this answering unknown callers.

At work any cold-call number isn't someone I would talk to anyway.

My personal phone blocks all unknown numbers.

Blacklist or SpamBlocker work well.
