you don't know me. you don't know what lengths I go to to protest this sham of an administration. you have no idea how much impact what I do has on the efforts of protesting this administration.
so please, explain to me, from your tower, how I'm not doing enough.
while you're measuring your protest-pp against mine, how about you whip yours out and explain how big your protest-pp is.
nevermind, I'm not interested in seeing your pp because I don't judge others based on the perception of helping others. I just help others because it needs to be done without my ego getting in the way.

When you wrote, "what exactly is offered to these friends for them to leave the comfort of their homes?", it came off as very transactional. Like, "I don't care about other people and their struggles, unless I'm being offered something.". That's why I ask if I'd need to sell you on the idea of caring about people.
I don't know how much you're doing. Your whole tangent about comparing weiners is kind of a non sequitur.
Your line "I just help others because it needs to be done without my ego getting in the way." specifically seems to contradict "what are you offering them?"
So I don't know what your deal is.
my "deal" is you're attacking them based on a characterization of these people that have zero basis on the original concept you wish to convey. it's purely ad hominem or conjecture on your part that implies they aren't going because they will be "enjoying the safety of being straight white cis abled bodied men"
maybe you should explain to them why it's important to you that they be there? maybe they aren't going because you're insufferable? maybe they don't like how judgmental you are? IDK, maybe they just aren't good friends.
I know one thing though. you're a shit friend for attacking them for things they can't change and implying they are wrong for being it. And you know who does that? MAGA does.

My point is they're not going to protests or doing much to resist the trump admin, and they're privileged enough that they're not in any personal danger. They know why they're being asked to go. It's on the news and internet, too. They decided they'd rather just stay home and play video games.

ok, you're not attacking them, you're mocking and ridiculing them for being what they are. sure, different intent but it's still no different than what MAGA does. You say potato I say potato.
I'm worked up because I've had my trust in people that called me friend broken. People I considered brothers and sisters. People who turned around and betrayed me and sold me out for "better" friends. And to this day I will not trust another person as a friend. I am alone because of people like you.
I didn't give a shit about the man/bear thing because it was manufactured outrage sold by the gallon over social media to drive interactions on platform. it was the metaphorical "tapping the fish tank to see what the fish do". yeah I get it, women trust a bear far more than any man. good for them. sounds like we have a lot in common when it comes to trust issues, doesn't it?
It's not a betrayal. That's an absurd characterization.
They're not being mocked for their immutable traits. They're being mildly disparaged for not doing anything to resist the trump administration, and the fact that they are personally extremely safe is being pointed out. They are not being insulted for being cis het white guys. They are being mildly insulted for staying home playing video games while fascism is outside shooting journalists.
The fact that they're cishet white etc is brought up because it's, let's say, interesting that they're not doing anything when they're not in any personal danger. There's a whole poem about that, the one that ends with "and there was no one left to speak for me.".
Let me say it again. They're not being attacked because of their immutable traits. They're being insulted for their inaction. Their immutable traits make their inaction worse. Like if you need a place to stay, it's harder to accept when the guy living alone in a four bedroom says no than when the couple living in a studio does.
I'm sorry you've been hurt and felt betrayed but I think you're really reading more into this than there is. I texted one of the guys I was referring to in the initial post and he laughed pretty hard about it.
just more excuses and refusal to acknowledge what you did was a betrayal of trust. even if they never find out what you did, you will know what you did.

I'm going to get real with you. You do not want protestors who don't care at your protests because a protest needs soul and impact. if you fill a protest with people who don't want to be there, for whatever fucking reason, your protest will die and the movement will have lost power instead of maintain or increase power.

then why bring up their sexual orientation, their gender, and their race? if it's simply a problem with their response why not say, " they won't protest because they are too comfortable and won't protest." it doesn't fit you narrative that you're desperate to live in. The clear narrative that anyone who doesn't protest with you, protests against you. That kind of mentality will do nothing but make you enemies.
you're right, but that doesn't make the guy in a four bedroom home wrong but it may make him an asshole. last I checked assholes are everywhere, but that alone doesn't make them wrong. just like you're not wrong for calling them out for not protesting, but it does make you an asshole for using their characterizations in a way that vilifies them.
that's cool, I'm glad that someone found it funny. doesn't make you any less of a shitty friend though, and it doesn't give you permission to continue to abuse and betray your friends like that.
