I mean... isn't it? Maybe in different ways. But its still a mess.
Yeah, especially Germany. I was under the impression that financially things there were really bleak.
I think what OP is getting at is that a lot of liberals still have a lot of hope with the EU system, and it's keeping people from radical politics.
And it serves as inspiration for a lot of the global south. “European style social democracy” has become an increasingly popular talking point.
"We need a European style democracy."
"The example, right? Well-funded institutions dedicated to working class well-being?"
"No, exploiting Africa and sending billions to Ukraine. How else do we get the healthcare budget to cut in the first place?"
