If you ever want to see an Elk close up I would definitely recommend visiting Estes Park during Rutt (spelling?) season.

Lived in Denver for a couple years and my wife and I would always drive up there to see them!

Glad to see the Elk showing solidarity!

Wouldn't it be dangerous to view them in seasons where they are hormonal?

Only if you get close enough that one can charge you. Otherwise it's a good time to see them all put in the open and mashing antlers.

Yeah they've kinda learned that they are safe in Rocky Mountain National Park and in Estes so they're chill. Still wild animals though and I wouldn't really wanna be that close to one like in the picture.
