you know, people really underestimate how cold the southern tip of South America can actually get... people from the south of Brazil, famously people from Curitiba, will never shut up about how cold it gets lol

I don't blame them though, I've been there before and it really is fucking cold during winter, especially since Brazilian architecture is not equipped to deal with the cold, there's no heat pumps or central heating pretty much anywhere

I've met foreigners from cold countries who came to Brazil, went to Curitiba and felt colder than ever before, because they had to rawdog the relentless cold even when they were indoors

my cousin told me the same thing about portugal. he was colder in the winter there than here, even though our winters are absolutely colder. but we have proper heating and double-glazed windows...
