David Brown 885. We have 2 of them for gardening sort of work, they're very small. Case imported them to North America for a few years as well under the Case brand.
We don't use them very often, but funny enough I was running one today with a brush mower on it and cleared some weedy areas around the equipment yard.
how much work is involved keeping that thing going? machines back then were built for maintenance, better than today's stuff, but nothing lasts forever... just curious!
Well, it got an oil change a couple weeks ago and had only had 150 hours on it in 5 years. So it doesn't see much use. I do remember having to source a helical gear for the PTO a few years back, that was a pain to find, we considered having one made instead. It's amazing you can still get parts for these machines 50 years later though.
But things like this even today are built to last thousands of hours, though you pay for it. It's not bad to maintain.
thanks!
