Moved to Rochester last October from the west coast. What are your food recs? Not talking fancy, talking somewhere I can go and get a good pizza, burger, sandwich. Your hole in the walls, your diet cheat days, the fun stuff. Bonus point for getting spicy options.

Ok, for LA style Mexican food - Chuy's is fantastic. Their shrimp tacos and flautas are killer. Across the street, Jasmine is an excellent Syrian restaurant. My favorite Mediterranean place for stuff like gyros etc is Mediterranean Kebab House. Anything hotdog related, just got to Dogtown. Cheap, delicious, what more can I say. For sushi, Shiki is excellent and also has some killer curry. Very authentic, has kind of an izakaya vibe. For normal pizza Mr Shoes is pretty good. Pizza Wizard is killer but a little more expensive but a better place to pickup a single slice. If you like Korean, Sodam is great, but I'd do pickup. The dolsot-bibimbop is my favorite but their soups are great too especially when you're sick. For the garbage plate, I think the Genesee Brew house is the best. Get a plate, go to the roof to look at the falls, get a free tour of their micro brewery. Pretty iconic. If you are looking for something more upscale, Park Ave has some good options. I'm partial to Roux and Dorado. If you like arcade machines/pinball you have to check out Swillburger. They have a basic burger shack kind of menu but it's delicious! Don't get me started on coffee shops.
