Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

I know that this type of post is pretty inappropriate for this community, but I thought I'd give my honest input on pornography. I typically prefer animated content because I am aware of how many folks are posting pictures and videos of themselves due to financial desperation.

I am someone who used to live in an emergency homeless shelter and I also used to live in a transitional house. Legally speaking, I was considered homeless and I've come to realise just how unethical porn consumption is because of it. From everything I've had to see and experience, I cannot, in good conscience, consume porn. Most people aren't doing it just out of their own free will, but because they need the money.

Yes, but porn is especially exploitative. Nobody's dream job is to expose their bodies for middle-aged men to gawk at and objectify. There's a huge difference between being a cashier and doing something that has a huge potential to traumatise and ruin you. Neither is ethical, but one is objectively way scarier than the other.

Edit: I'll take the downvotes, but it is a line of work that often ends in trauma. I'd take rude customers over traumatic flashbacks, even if I also agree that both are bad.

Your own statement is untrue, who are you to say that nobody has that dream? There's plenty more serious arguments for your ideal than this.

Even when it is their dream, it often ends in trauma. Many people in the sex work industry have repeatedly stated how dangerous this line of work is. Support the workers, not the industry. Sex workers will typically not encourage anyone else to be a sex worker for a reason.

So i guess cashiers never suffer ptsd after being robbed at gun point.

Not every country has a huge gun issue, so that didn't even pop into my mind. You're grasping at straws to avoid the fact that a large portion of sex workers experience literal violence. Not to mention, mass shootings are considered rather uncommon in most first-world countries. Intimate violence against sex workers, however? That's an expected part of the job.
