And the OS they chose is Fedora Linux, right? Right?
From a certain point of view, perhaps...
They don't not run Linux, with a little help. And the setup process will probably be as long as booting into Windows for the first time anyway.
But in the meantime you pay somewhere around 60-90$ of that price in a M$ license you're not even going to use...
If the devices run Linux competently, they might be worth the price, with or without that extra Windows tax. At least compared to MacOS hardware, or even similarly decked out Windows-free boutique alternatives from places like System76.
