In simple words sociology is the scientific study of society. While some sociologists conduct research that may be applied directly to social policy and welfare, others focus primarily on refining the theoretical understanding of social processes and phenomenological method. Needs another axis. I suspect folks who lean libertarian or anarchist are on the same page about not trusting the government to decide who deserves to live and die.

Are we talking first degrees, mass murderers only, what? Just every homicide?

Fuck that, the cops will try and charge you for homicide for being brown and within a mile of a murder they committed.
