Yeah, for some reason I pulled this from the shelf first thing in the morning.

Type O Negative, "Bloody kisses" (1993, here in 30th anniversary Suspended in dusk edit).

God I really want this but with the original tracklist. It's rare as hen's teeth.

Yeah, I was excited for this, but I do miss Fay Wray come out and play and Kill all the white people... The original version is fairly common on the aftermarket, just really expensive because Warner puts out so few vinyl reissues.

It's really interesting how well both versions work, though. Quite different records, even though most tracks are identical. Like the original carries on from "Slow, deep and hard", while this one leads more seamlessly into "October rust"?

It's fascinating how transitional "Bloody kisses" was for the band, while also being a seminal album.

My old, battered 1993 CD (with the original track list) is one of the reasons I got me a CD player again...

Yeah when I was a younger angsty goth I preferred the version with Suspended in Dusk, and you're spot on that it feels like a more natural continuation towards October Rust. But over time I've come to appreciate the more hardcore tracks of the original tracklist, and I actually like the interstitial noise tracks. They make it feel more like a thematic album rather than just a collection of songs.

I keep looking for local sellers of the version with the original tracklist but it's pretty rare over here. If I lived in the US or mainland Europe I'd find it easier (and less expensive) to get a copy.

Fingers crossed we will both find a mint version in a bargain bin soon 🤞
