I mean, it's currently also the most popular distribution on DistroWatch.com. I realize neither metric is perfect, notably because there's no tracking in Linux as opposed to non-free OSs, but it shows it's extremely popular and well-reviewed.

True. There's probably still a significant reporting bias, but it's still notable.
