Fluxer v2 is out, mobile clients are open source, self-hosting is improving, and public development is moving back to GitHub.

Agree. People is putting a lot of hope on Fluxer and sleeping on Movim https://movim.eu/

Movim is based on XMPP, not sure if E2EE but, XMPP, and thus Movim, is decentralized, I don't see a reason not to host an instance for that region
