Not sure if this is the right place, but I've seen this for the 3rd removed now.

Literally couldn't use the word in the title ... got a red pop-up that said "slur".

It's the 3rd word (singular) in the famous newspaper from New York ....

UPDATE: seems to be an issue with ani.social, thanks for all the feedback!

Those are only blocked instances not any domains blocked.

I don't know enough about how lemmy (or any fedi software come to that) differentiates between the two or even that it did to be honest - isn't an instance tied to a domain?

Instances are other Fediverse software sites like Lemmy, PieFed, Mastodon, etc. The block list stops their content from appearing in your instances feed.

There are a separate list of blocks for any URL, so for example an instance could block anyone posting links to BBC.com.
