Thats genuinely the level we are at sadly. People getting reported to the cops by google and apple over photos of their kids stored in their private cloud storage.
Worse: teenagers getting on the sex offender list because they shared a topless pic of themselves with a partner.
Meanwhile the predators get to hold office
But also you don't need naked pictures of your kid.
Guessing you've never been embarrassed by a family photoalbum. I think more care should be given in the digital age, but it's far from abnormal. Nudity isn't inherently sexual unless you're weird.
Never said anything about it being sexual. You still don't need naked pictures of your kid. Hell you don't even need pictures of your kid. Humans have gone hundreds of thousands of years without, and you not producing naked pics of your kids means there's a 0% chance of someone who does find nudity sexual getting ahold of them some how.
Do you have children? Mine run around naked half of the time. It's just what happens when they're in-between 2-5 years old. "No pants! Hahahaha!" Can't reason with them, so you just let them enjoy themselves.
Or you never take pictures or eventually there will be a picture with my kid naked. And I want pictures of them while they're growing up.
Edit: this is at home.
So you manage to have moments of them clothed when out of the house? Take pictures then or exercise the same techniques to have them clothed in the house for you take pictures. Or just don't take pictures and live in the moment. Humans have gone over 300,000 years without pictures of their kids. You'll be fine.
People went thousands of years with no clothes too.
pictures of your memories are broadly very good
to be clear you are currently on the side defending big tech cloud providers banning your account and reporting you to the police for pictures you take of your kids (or patients if you are a doctor, or yourself if you are a minor). even if that is not a position you hold, that is where you've placed yourself.
obviously this needs no further justification. permanent memories can be a very good thing. kids can be extremely chaotic and fast, and making sure you conform to some social pressure (from whom even? i don't think parents would care like you do) is absolute nonsense as well. are you just ragebaiting? you take pictures in the moment. those pictures are private and should not be easily viewable by other people or automated mechanisms acting as judge, jury, and executioner while simultaneously using those same pictures as training data for their plagiarism machine. that is not how a sensible society would act.
I completely agree, but the reality is that digital pictures uploaded to the cloud ARE often easily visible by other people or automated mechanisms acting as judge, jury, and executioner while simultaneously using those same pictures as training data for their plagiarism machine. The ONLY way to stop that is to not put pictures online (even to your "private" accounts), especially if they are naked pictures of your kids.
Not at all. To delete accounts over innocuous pictures is obviously a gross overreach, but the reality of the situation is that this shit IS the way our current systems work and the ONLY way to not fall victim is to not take pictures of your kids naked.
