Its so stupid especially as Minecraft (not sure about cod) the example they stated provides community server as a built in feature. Its always so weird to see people so blatantly lie through their teeth with their name and everything on display for companies. There are of more serious examples than videogame servers, but its also weird even on this level.
I'm probably wrong but from what I'm aware of, Donald Trump started the trend of saying something's illegal just because their interest doesn't align with it. The ESA might be referring to their individual corporate law/s instead of, and which in the USA are sometimes more powerful than, state law - doesn't change the fact their statement is false.
It also stands as testament that the lawmakers know so little about the law that they take face-value advice from some random individual
