A place for for news, discussion, memes, and links criticizing capitalism and advancing viewpoints that challenge liberal capitalist ideology. That means any support for any liberal capitalist political party (like the Democrats) is strictly prohibited.

A zero-tolerance policy for bigotry of any kind. Failure to respect this will result in a ban.

3 No capitalist apologia, anti-socialism, or liberalism, liberalism is in direct conflict with the left. Support for capitalism or for the parties or ideologies that uphold it are not welcome or tolerated.

4 No imperialism, conservatism, reactionism or Zionism, lessor evil rhetoric. Dismissing 3rd party votes or 'wasted votes on 3rd party' is lessor evil rhetoric.

5 No bigotry, no racism, sexism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any type of prejudice.

6 Be civil in comments and no accusations of being a bot, 'paid by Putin,' Tankie, etc. This includes instance shaming.

Does the source impact the message? This is the reality of a large part of the working class, so regardless where it comes from the truth is still the same

Then label it so. Indicate its a made-up source, as a tag in the title.

I have no problem with a message. But do you really think people would upvote this if they knew it was a "message" from ChatGPT or something, just to make this account a buck? Isn't that a bit ironic, in this community?

Of course not. The Tweeter has already made their cash, and you’re dodging the point.

Its too late now (as the post has already made its rounds), but its about exposing Lemmy to a fake post.

It was a pretty simple choice. Do you value information hygiene and truthful presentation, or the message itself, more? Does the veracity of the source it comes from matter? Would you mislead Lemmy viewers if it’s for the right message?

And it seems you answered that with your choice.
