The most recent example of Microsoft and other โ€˜born in the USAโ€™ software vendors being shown the door comes from the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

โ€œThe transition away from Microsoft SharePoint has been completed step by step, without disruption or data loss for employees,โ€ explained Marco Anschรผtz, the stateโ€™s CIO, in a statement. โ€œTogether with DVZ M-V, we have built a platform that runs reliably today and continues to expand step by step.โ€

Thatโ€™s not as big a feat as it sounds, since Nextcloud ships with those capabilities ready to go. (Full disclosure: Nextcloud is a Platinum Sponsor of FOSS Force.)

"the worst kind of immigrants" are those that don't want to integrate but segregate and form their own previous culture but with german benefits. Or those that bring questionable values with them and act upon them. But sure, immigration is no inherently bad thing. We have many lovely foreigners or ex-foreigners here. But that topic is beyond the original topic :-)
