yeah get a prebuilt home assistant (yellow or green) or a rpi (4 or 5). unless you run a local llm, the voice assistant is kinda rough. mine misspells my name in voice to text sometimes and doesnt know which room im talking about.
probably best to just keep using the alexa speakers. im a techy guy and im finding the transition rough. my wife keeps using the google speakers and it all integrates nicely. i dont think the pine64 speaker is going to be all that much better. in fact, i dont even think itll work with home assistant out of the box. its designed for like alibaba smart home(?). the home assistant vouce preview works exactly the way the home assistant voice controls work on my phone, so id expect the pinevoice to be about the same. i have one ordered tho, so we'll see.
