Try a solo vacation! Heaven! No having to figure out where to go, what to eat, when to eat, how much to spend, when to go to bed, when to get up, etc.
I know someone whose favorite thing to do on vacation is to sleep in the hotel room until 1 or 2 pm every day. Forget doing ANYTHING before 3 or 4 pm. They'd get irritated if I went out at 8 am and started doing stuff without them. The museums and attractions close at 5, I'm not paying to see it for an hour.
Travel alone, it's liberating!
That sounds incredible. I don't think I could spring it.
Just do solo, one-tank day trips, then. Go visit the museums and stuff in the next city over.
No car and about as much time. I get Friday night at 7:30 PM to Saturday morning at 11:59 AM to myself. Outside of that I've got obligations.
