As someone who supports psychotherapy practice: You're massively underestimating how bad many therapists are. Even in regions where it is fairly strictly regulated, its not rare to find psychotherapists with no idea what they're doing and/or no care for their clients, nonetheless without a more comprehensive understanding of neurodivergence or trauma. Far, far too many treat psychotherapy as a checklist of CBT activities, ignoring the needs of individual clients or the contexts of their concerns.
Again, psychotherapy is useful, proven to be effective, and generally good, but its not at all rare to have terrible therapists, or to have those that don't "click" with you. Statememts like,
just make you look like an elitist asshole, and discredits the field, particularly to those who have had similar experiences (which is not a small number of people).
