Some Rules

Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
Don't promote proprietary software
Try to keep things on topic
If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

Any privacy-respecting apps to use for my phone to make NFC? (lemmy.world)

So, I was about to pay for a lunch using NFC, but then I checked on my phone and the only NFC apps it has are Google and Samsung's.

Which apps I can use to do NFC that will not sell all my bank data?

Are you referring to "tap to pay" with your phone that uses NFC?

If so, you are out of luck. Only options (at least in the USA) are Apple, Google, and Samsung.

It's also super locked down. You are only allowed to use it if Google or Apple says that your device is authorized. So no root, no custom ROMs. Unless your phone is owned by a corporation and that corporation is blessed by Apple or Google you are out of luck. (There are currently ways around this but the gaps are slowly being closed as older devices are phased out.)
