One of the most pathetic things about Americans is them claiming to be a part of other cultures
I remember when I was running a bar in Scotland, and a stupid Yank said "oh, I'm Scottish"
I asked him a few questions, and it transpired that his great grandfather was Scottish
Not him.
This was the same for Yanks claiming to be French, Irish, and all sorts
The closest any got was German.
America had culture for thousands of years, then some white shit heads did their best to kill it, and they still know deep down that they are stupid barbarians, so they pretend

You're viewing US culture from another country, where you're only getting the corporate monoculture that dominates our popular culture. But visit the more urban parts of any city in the US and you'll be confronted with the reality of a more complex local culture
