Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

And sometimes regular people want things to work with minimal friction.
I’ve run Jellyfin and I get this; you must not have something serious correctly, your bandwidth sucks, or it’s a bug in Jellyfin. Either way, that’s friction.
Again, friction. Google Photos and WhatsApp is easy. I guarantee you’ve setup something that you think is cool but is just a PITA.
I’d be like if a mechanic setup this car so that everything was opposite to make it difficult to steal; gas on the left and brake on the right, turn signal on the left, etc etc. sure he thinks it’s cool and when he drives it it’s fine, but it’s a PITA for anyone else to drive his car. And he asks people to drive his car constantly to show them how cool it is because of all the work he put into it.
And don’t call people “normies”. You sound like you live in you mom’s basement when you say that.
