Texting while driving is banned in nearly every state, even with the use of advanced driver-assistance systems like Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software.

I remember the first time I was in a Tesla, the driver tried to turn on self driving to show it off and it immediately tried to lane change over to the wrong side of the road.
