Mittlerweile konnte ich Telegram auf dem Smartphone installieren und auf dem Desktop nutzen - durch Versuch und Irrtum.

"Lösung": Ich habe die Installation mit einer ganz alten Mobilfunknummer getestet, was natürlich nicht geklappt hat. Nach Aktualisierung auf meine aktuelle Nummer lief alles wie am Schnürchen. Weshalb - wieso - warum - keine Ahnung. Hauptsache, es hat geklappt.
