I own the game but I never played it. I'm a huge Mesoamerican history nerd so I picked it up for my collection.
For the record (to be that guy):
Crystal skulls are all fake and created in the mid 19th century.
Kukulkan and Quetzalcoatl are basically the same deity.
The game has the "Mayan Calendar" as a subtitle but uses Piedra del Sol as their calendar. Which isn't a calendar in the first place but has calendar dates on it, that's like putting bible verses on a wall and calling it the bible. Also it's Aztec not Mayan.
Sadge about the crystal skull thing. They're among the coolest bits I've seen in any game!
Still despite the historical inaccuracies it's still a stellar worker placement hand with a super unique mechanic where the longer you leave workers on a space the more valuable they get! The cog turning everything is just super neat too! Definitely try it sometime :D
If I had someone to play it with me I would be delighted. I would tell them the same things I just typed and hope they would call me a dork.
