Gah! The Charles Stross series The Laundry Files. The books Apocalypse Codex and Delirium Brief.

You're welcome body horror fans. :D

And for everyone else, if you're into British dark humor modernesque Lovecraftian horror scifi that includes vampires, you might love the series.

That's what I was trying to remember! I knew I had read something with that.

Great series, though it's starting to get a bit long in the tooth. So to speak.

Yea, when reality catches up to you and starts to be weirder than you can imagine... :D

I understand why he moved away from Bob because writers get burnt/bored, but I feel like he and Mo were far more interesting that what followed.

Sometimes I feel like the only person who reads scifi/fantasy that doesn't particularly like vampires.

I did like the motley collection of "kids" in the old haunted mansion, tho.

And I especially don't like the New Management/Black Pharaoh direction, but I guess he had to differentiate Britain from the US in a way that didn't lead directly to an apocalypse scenario.

I do want more War Unicorns and autistic elves, however.

It was the Black Pharoah thing that put me off. Unfortunately he escalated the story line so far he needed to go down that path and it ended up making everything weird... er.
