A good idea to use for a bumbling fool like me ? I assume it generally would increase my security level ?

KeePass would be the truly private way to do it, but managing a syncing app like syncthing is a chore sometimes. Bitwarden is a good compromise. You should absolutely be using a password manager so that your passwords can be longer/more complex than can be remembered.

Keepass and Syncthing are my preferred pairing, but I'm also using Syncthing as my home-LAN backup/sync tool anyway so it was little extra effort. Probably not a good solution for non-nerds though. Syncthing can be finicky.
