For quality trance, try Hallucinogen: e.g. ‘Twisted’ and ‘The Lone Deranger’. Perhaps also compilations ‘Technobotanic Tryptamines’ or ‘Kiss The Future: Procyon’, but these are pretty traditional.
As for the synth, idk if there's particular terminology — I think it's just arpeggios.

Problem is when people are more fixated on the genre than on quality: it needs to have 4 on the floor, with those prolonged breaks, at the end of each you can shout when the bassdrum kicks in again, maybe believing that this is "trance". And female vocals reciting buzzwords like Light, Love, Universe, Consciousness, You Are Free, yadda yadda in a sensual voice... 🤮
