Hello.
I haven't used this account for over a year, but I have recently returned to raise concerns about a phenomenon that has been going on at Facebook for a while.
Below innocuous and normal Reels of black babies uploaded by the parents, there are people posting racist comments about the child by comparing them to non-human primates like monkeys and gorillas through the use of photos, GIFs, or just plain written comments calling them said primates. Sometimes, they also post puking emojis to show that they are disgusted by those cute babies.
Those aren't troll or bot accounts. Those are real people, having their real names and faces posting such comments, and all of them are middle-aged adults and senior citizens. Mind you, not only are they from the United States; they are also from other places like Eastern Europe, Italy, Latin America, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Middle East, from what I have observed.
They are in almost every single profile owned by a black person, usually (not not always) from Nigeria. So, this harassment appears to be targeted because of the type of pattern they follow.
There has been some of those parents that have called out those people. A black woman from Texas who produces dark-skinned reborn dolls has talked about having to delete comments and block people that are comparing her dolls (and the kids used as reference for those dolls) to monkeys and other racial attacks.
Like, why are they doing this? What is the purpose of this? What are trying to get from it?
If you have an FB and you see comments like these, report them for hate speech immediately. If they have their workplaces listed on their profiles, make sure to contact their employers and provide evidence (you can also use a burner email if you wish to remain anonymous).
Thank you for reading this post.
EDIT 01/17/2026: I have written an article about it that is both on Medium and Substack that you can take a look at. While I was investigating and collecting evidence, I realised that I was incorrect about them circumventing the guidelines by avoiding the use of racial slurs.
They are able to circumvent the guidelines because they are not using the N-word.
