Militaria + Absurdity/Memes + Inclusivity
But like... pro military, or...?
I mean, much of this material comes from NCD at The Old Place, and the best way to describe opinions on the military there would be 'diverse'. A number of vets there though, and whatever their other opinions, the view of militaries as barely-functioning morasses of paperwork, graft, and dangerously unsupervised human beings (all true) was widespread.
Personally, I repost things thinking something along the lines of: "Military hardware is very cool, military institutions are fascinating, and defending even flawed democracies is good; but Jesus Christ what a waste of human potential warfare is, and what immense bloat and wastage goes into the US 'defense' budget."
Nuance? In my meme feed??
