Americans love rich families, that is shown over and over again, each generation a new rich family is in the spotlight.

Fortunately, I think more people are realizing that ABAB. I don't know which rich family is garnering admiration at the moment, but if their net worth is under a billion, they're just playing at rich. Real power starts at billionaire status, today. And, most Americans can't name more than three or four of them. The current estimate is >900 billionaires in the U.S.

Additionally, admiring the rich is certainly not exclusive to the U.S., just to be clear.

Americans substitute wealthy people for the royalty we've never had.
