Stupid useless crap.
On the contrary. This is amazing, a scifi dream come true.
The problem is the companies behind, the intention of trapping you into their "service". The fact that it is sealed, you cannot see, thinker on or modify what's inside, that you wont own it.
But the concept and the hardware are awesome.
Run your own AI server and it's still lame
I stand by my assessment, and by your description so do you.
No, I do get you. I am tired to of the current state of affairs.
I was just trying to see it from a different angle... I think 25 years ago this would have sound fascinating.
Agreed, back before Google was actually about their slogan "don't be evil" and Facebook didn't exist. We didn't know how good it was, did we.
But what's it for?
for nothing in particular, whatever you want.
What a sale's pitch!
The same kind of sale's pitch for wood, or steel or a screwdriver: buy it if you want it to do whatever you want with them.
Not everything needs a sale's pitch. That's kind of my point: a portable video camera that goes with you everywhere is cool tech as a raw material, like wood or steel.
Some people wouldn't get the value of a piece of wood because they don't have the skills to turn it into anything they want/need. Instead, they want somebody to overcharge them for renting a "table service" that they can only use 60 times per month in the basic plan. It is that people that need a "sale's pitch" to convince them to buy the stupid "pro table plan".
Holy false equivalencies, Batman!
