Suppose I have the text "This is at test". I notice that I have a typo in there, I want to change "at" into "a". Therefore I hit backspace until "This is a". Now what is interesting is that autocorrect underlines the "a" PLUS the whitespace before!

So when I hit whitespace in order to get "This is a ", the space before gets replaced as well, so it turns into "This isa ".

Now, try and repeat - when I want to fix this and delete the "a" - What I end up is "Thisis ". :(

I often have to delete the entire sentence before it stops merging words together. Happens with Openboard as well as the stock keyboard.

Does anyone else have this issue? Only reference I found is this:

I think it's an incompatibility between certain GUI frameworks and the android default autocomplete feature. It only happens on certain apps, such as Jerbora for Lemmy or Chatgpt.
